Sandra Grant, Spartan’s acclaimed sales co-ordinator for over ten years, retired in October 2010 due to ill health. Sandra started at Strathmashie just after the Millennium celebrations in 2000, and at the beginning of Spartan’s big relocation from Monmouthshire.
She has guided us through a decade of growth and development, culminating in the building of the new distribution ‘wing’ at Strathmashie in 2008, and the subsequent acquisition of Fuller Music and Phylloscopus Publications. Sandra, aptly described by a colleague as a ‘Super Woman’, will be very hard to replace and her presence is greatly missed at the Mash.
Ian Stevenson, who has been the computer manager at Spartan Press's 'HighlandHost.net' for nearly three years, is off to pastures new to live with his beloved in their recently purchased 19th Century flat in Falkirk. A new computer based job in Edinburgh has been secured, and Edinburgh's gain is unfortunately Spartan's loss.
Chris McKay has recently been appointed as Spartan’s new head of computing. Chris went to school in Edinburgh, Studied Law in Dundee, worked at the Home Office and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and has just returned to Scotland after many years as I.T. manager at Standford University, California! He started mid-November 2010.
