Franz Liszt's Ave Verum Corpus is a simple, evocative and sincere setting which would be suitable for any church service or concert. There are few challenges for any choir but great scope for creating a wonderfully atmospheric performance. It can be successfully performed with or without organ (or piano) accompaniment) could also be performed by a solo quartet.
Franz Liszt (1811-1886) is remembered today for his prolific and virtuosic output for the piano, but he was also a very fine orchestral and vocal composer. This accessible choral work is published to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Liszt's birth in 1811.
