James Stretton was born in Warwickshire in 1967. He studied at Trinity College of Music, London and Trumpet with James Austin in Houston, Texas. James is a freelance Trumpeter, Composer and Arranger. Formerly he was Head of Instrumental Music at Harrogate Ladies’ College. With the trumpet he has enjoyed a chameleon like career playing with Symphony Orchestras, Pop Bands, Brass Bands, Early Music Ensembles & Big Bands. He is currently a member of the Nick Ross Orchestra and formerly a member of the world famous Black Dyke band with whom he won the European Brass Championship in 2005.
